Anglia Ruskin University
Project overview
As part of their facility uplift with Life Fitness, Pocket Rocket Group was asked to develop and deliver a communication strategy and launch plan for Anglia Ruskin University’s new facility at The Old Factory in Chelmsford. This encompassed a range of services including marketing, business consulting and training and education.
Challenge
Following a significant investment in their new Life Fitness facility, ARU required a new membership drive at The Old Factory, to raise awareness and combat competition in the local area. In an academic environment that typically doesn’t operate on a commercial level, the challenge was to get the team thinking outside of their student community.
Solution
The delivery of this project focused on establishing a cohesive and scalable marketing foundation that would support both immediate campaign needs and long-term commercial growth. A clear launch strategy was developed to guide the rollout of new initiatives, supported by a structured communications framework to ensure consistent messaging across internal and external audiences.
A targeted social media plan was implemented to strengthen engagement, grow digital visibility, and align channel activity with key awareness goals.
To maintain brand consistency, a suite of adaptable templates and marketing assets was created, enabling teams to produce high-quality materials efficiently while remaining aligned with ARU’s visual identity.
Alongside these tools, the internal team received practical upskilling support to build confidence in using the new systems, improving autonomy and long-term capability. Together, these solutions created a more streamlined marketing approach and strengthened the university’s ability to drive commercial opportunities and measurable impact across its campaigns.
